Background

The Karnataka anuvada sahitya Academy came into being in September 2005 on the orders of the Government Order No: Sankhee / Kasadha / 2005: 27.09.2015 as part of the  Bhasha-Bharati, a national literary-cultural organization founded in the name of Rashtrakavi Kuvempu. The academy's activities were formally inaugurated on January 6, 2006 by the then Chief Ministers, Mr.N.Dharma singh Among the chief guests were Nadoja Dr. De Jawaregowda, a retired Chancellor of the University of Mysore, a renowned scholar and a great translator. The Karnataka anuvada sahitya Academy was the first institution of its kind in the country.

Subsequently the Kuvempu Bhasha Bharati pradhikar came into being as per Government Order No: Ka sam va pra / 55 / Kara a / 2009 dated: 30.05.2009. And the Karnataka anuvada sahitya Academy has merged with the Kuvempu Bhasha Bharati Authority.
